Mangoes are drupes and develop during a ripening period of 2 to 5 months. Although there are more than 1000 different mango varieties, only about 30 varieties make it to the market in Germany. There are diverse variations in color, shape, and size. There are almost as many differences in taste among mangoes.

You can find everything from mangoes as small as a plum and weighing only a few grams to mangoes weighing 2 kg or more. Mangoes have names like Alphonso, Irwin, Apple, Ngowe, Sidri, Mora, Parkins, Red Haden, Parvin, Julie, Sheil, Keith, Zill, Langra, to name just a few.

Among connoisseurs, the mango is often referred to as the queen of exotic fruits. The exotic taste and delicious fragrance are difficult to describe in words; they simply have to be "experienced." So, a fascinating "world of taste" awaits us. Every mango tastes slightly different, and it's always a new delicious experience to enjoy a mango.
