Mango Lassi Recipe…

Mango Lassi, very delicious and quick to prepare. Mango Lassis, and Lassis in general, are among the traditional Indian yogurt drinks. Lassis were already mentioned in the texts of the Vedic period as milk and yogurt drinks in India.

Based on the basic recipe, Lassi is made from water or milk with yogurt in a 1:1 (or even 1:2) mixing ratio. The sweet variation contains sugar and saffron, fruit juice or pureed fruits, e.g., as Mango Lassi. The salty spiced variation is known as Namkin Lassi.

Here are the ingredients for approx. 1000 ml of Lassi:

100 ml milk
300 g yogurt
400 g mango pulp
1 tbsp white cane sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
200 ml cold, still water or filtered tap water

Peel and dice the mangoes. Blend all ingredients in a blender. Add lemon juice to taste. If desired, decorate with lemon balm leaves. Serve chilled. Depending on your preference, you can also dilute the Lassi with more water.
